LhasaLhasa is the capital of Tibet Autonomous Region People’s Republic. It is situated at 3650 meters altitude on the northern slopes of Himalayas, in southern Tibet Autonomous Region. With its location Lhasa is the highest located city in the world. It is situated 50 km from airport it is constructed and the path to spiritual center takes about an hour. This is the main place for the Tibet Autonomous Region is the traditional residence of the Dalai Lama. Really we can include this city in our Asian top destinations and Travel journal, because here culture of this place grab many hearts and made this province one of the most interesting for travelers from all over the world. Lhasa is also called “land of the gods.” The village dates from 1300 and is built in a valley located in close proximity to the eponymous river. In the 7th century there were built the first temple Dzhohang and Potala Palace. Eight centuries later are built Buddhist monasteries Sera, Drepung and Gandin. The historical and spiritual heritage of Lhasa is huge, with regard to fighting and protection of Tibetan culture. Here lies the unique and most revered of Tibetan culture Jovi Shakyamuni statue, situated in the large temple. It consists of three floors, which house prayer rooms. Here pilgrims pass through three concentric paths – two around the temple and one inside it.
